Fetal Position & Presentation

Understanding fetal position or baby’s position in womb before labor is very important. Knowing your baby’s position in the womb during the last weeks of pregnancy can help your doctor in managing pain and discomfort and also plan for the delivery in advance. Even in case you get into labor early, knowing the baby’s position can help your doctor and you in adjusting your own position and maybe even speed up your delivery process.

Some basic fetal positions like the Cephalic position (head down) contains various presentations like the LOA positions, ROA positions, ROP position, LOP position, ROT position and LOT position respectively.

Similarly other fetal positions are the Breech, Traverse and Oblique. Each of these have their various presenting positions as well.
